BRITISH SUPERBIKE NEWS 2007

Maxton once again supported P.R Branson’s Honda this year running a 2007 CBR1000RR. As reigning Privateer Superbike Champions they felt they were ready to take the step up to the main Superbike championship.

The team started the season with Sean Emmett, but due to differences between Shaun and team, the pair unfortunately went their separate ways. We wish Shaun the best of luck for the future.

Dave JohnsonDave Johnson After completing two test days on the P.R Bransons’s Superbike, Australian David Johnson was chosen to ride for the team and compete at the remaining 3 rounds. Dave had been riding in the Dutch Superbike series and was ready for a new challenge. Dave has previously raced in British Superbike and also British Superstock, finishing on the podium many times.

Dave had excellent results in the final rounds British Superbike Championship finishing in the top 20 in nearly every race. The team are pleased to announce that David Johnson has signed to ride for them for the 2008 season and are looking forward to starting pre-season testing in the New Year.

National Superstock Championship 2007

Al SeeleyThis year Maxton looked after three riders at National Superstock level : Alistair Seeley, Hayden Fitzgerald and Craig Beggs.Craig Beggs Alistair had an outstanding rookie season in Superstock finishing the championship in 9th place. Having only visited Oulton Park and Mondello Park before. The highlight of his season was a 3rd place podium finish at Croft. Alistair was also very pleased with the ride at his home round of Mondello Park. After running the whole race in second place, he was “mugged” on the last corner of the last lap by Steve Brogan and Glen Richards.

Alistair Seeley also had a very successful time at this years North West 200 finishing 2nd in the Superstock race behind Bruce Anstey.

Craig and Hayden also had very good finishes throughout the year. Both finishing inside the top 20 regularly in the first season in the National Superstock Championship. Craig Beggs is carrying on for a second full season next year and is hoping for a top ten finish.

In 2008 an addition to the current riders using Maxton Suspension is Conor Cummins. Conor is riding for NCT Racing on a Yamaha R1 in the National Superstock Championship. NCT Racing will also be providing Conor with a Superbike and Supersport machine for the North West 200, Isle of Man TT Races and Ulster Grand Prix. All machinery will be running Maxton Suspension. NCT racing are also running David Hare in the Junior Super stock Championship.

British Supersport Championship 2007

Ben Wylie Ben Wylie ran Maxton suspension this year aboard a 2007 Yamaha R6. Ben finished 4th in the Supersport Cup just 4 points behind Christian Elkin. Ben has had a very successful season finishing on the podium a number of times. Mark Cronshaw also raced in the Supersport Championship at Snetterton. In his first ever meeting he qualified in 14th place overall.

GP125 Championship 2007

Conner Behan This year Maxton has been developing its new GP7 Monoshock for the Honda RS125. Conner Behan has been running the suspension and is really making progress on the bike, finishing in the top 15 this year. Conner is only 16 years old and last year was his first full season at British Championship level. He is carrying on in the championship next year and hoping to run in the top 10.
