Brad Anderson joins Blackhorse Kawasaki

With the start of the new racing season drawing ever closer, Blackhorse Kawasaki have completed their line-up by securing the services of Brad Anderson to compete in the Metzeler National Superstock 600 Championship. The signing of the 22 year old from Stockport not only enables Blackhorse Kawasaki to mount a serious assault on the BSB Superstock scene this season, but also maintains the team's ethos of developing and encouraging young up and coming riders.. Brad follows in the footsteps of Conor Cummins, Victor Cox, David Pearce and Olie Linsdell etc, who have all benefitted from the experience and knowledge of manager Ian Lougher and his team.

Anderson was recently under the watchful eye of Lougher during a test in Almeria, and the Welshman saw enough ability and attitude to convince him to bring the youngster on board for 2011.

Last season Anderson competed in the Metzeler National Superstock 600 series for the first time and put in some impressive performances, with an excellent eighth at Brands Hatch being worthy of note. And with both Cummins and Cox in Blackhorse Kawasaki colours again in the Metzeler National Superstock 1000 class, Brad is in good company within the team and has an excellent foundation on which to build upon his 2010 mid-table finish in the Championship.

Brad Anderson:

'I am delighted to be joining Blackhorse Kawasaki in 2011 for the Metzeler National Superstock 600 Championship. I am really looking forward to meeting up with the team and having a serious run-out on the team's Kawasaki ZX-6R when we go to Cartagena for pre-season testing in March. After that the hard work will really begin and I will be concentrating and focusing 100% on the championship. The past two seasons have been a big learning curve for me, both on and off the track. If I'm being honest, it has been difficult at times trying to run my own team with just me and my dad. We have had plenty of good solid results but no wins or podiums, however joining Blackhorse Kawasaki has given me the best possible chance of not only putting that right but also performing at the highest level within my class and hopefully show my full potential and reach my goals.'

Ian Lougher:

'We are pleased that Brad is joining us for 2011, he's a talented lad who will fit in well with the team. Our line-up for this season is extremely strong and we know that in Victor Cox and Conor Cummins we have two of the best young riders in the Metzeler National Superstock 1000 Championship and we intend going all out for honours. The new Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R is an awesome piece of kit and really sets the benchmark for others to follow. We are all looking forward to the forthcoming pre-season tests in Spain as it will give us a chance to come together as a team, have our first taste of the new machinery, and escape the cold and wet of the UK! Once testing is complete we can then concentrate on the job in hand with the opening round of the BSB season in April.'

Dan Kneen to BSB Evo Update

Well its been a busy few weeks with the season closing in fast, I've recently been away to pick up the new bike from Alf's motorcycles in Worthing so it was good to see some of the lads and catch up a bit too.
On the way back up I spent most of the journey picking up new parts for the new bike so I had something to do when i got back.
As soon as I got back I was straight to Slicks to strip the new bike and get started rebuilding it with the new parts I'd picked up. I'm still waiting on lots of parts which is the norm with a new bike.
So far I've got the yolks fitted with the bearing cups. "Good looking Phil" machined for me and had them anodized. The new forks are in from Maxton and they look like good kit so can't wait to get a spin on it.
I'm still waiting on wheels and swing arm bearings so at the minute I'm just waiting till everything turns up to do anything else.
Slicks had the motor out and blueprinted it so we've got that back in now but we can't run it on the dyno till our wheels show which is annoying.
In between all that I've been getting some work in and training a bit too.
Also the Supporters club has been going well. We had our first launch night after christmas and we had quite a few join up which is good.
We're having a race night at the Cat With No Tail on the 26th of Feb with Roy Moore doing that for us which should be a good night starting at half 8.
Before that iI've got lots to organize before we head of to Spain to test the new bike which I cant wait for.

Speak soon. Dan

Successful Test at Cartagena

A busy four days of testing at the Cartagena Pro-Test concluded for Blackhorse Kawasaki, and not even a minor crash involving Victor Cox on the last day could deflect from what was a very successful and encouraging time for the team in Southern Spain. Sharing the track with many of the British Superbike stars, the team's three riders, Cox, Conor Cummins and Brad Anderson took full advantage of the dry and sunny, albeit cold conditions to familiarise themselves with their 2011 machinery. Cox was particularly impressive. On the exciting new Ninja ZX-10R, it didn't take long for the young Trowbridge rider to find his rhythm and he was very much the man to watch. Consistently quick throughout the four days, he would eventually set the quickest time in the Superstock 1000 class. Returning to action after his Isle of Man TT crash last year was Cummins, who spent the first few days of the test comfortably settling back into the groove. The Manxman got quicker with each session and it was very much a case of 'mission accomplished' for Conor. Brad Anderson meanwhile wasn't about to be outshone by his more experienced team-mates and the team's new signing was superb on his first outing in Blackhorse Kawasaki colours. On the Ninja ZX-6R, Brad topped one of his sessions and finished among the front runners in the Superstock 600 class! The team took the opportunity to test a variety of Maxton fork internals and rear shocks, and it was great to have Richard from Maxton on hand. Also tested were some new compounds from SBS Brake Systems which worked well as did the Leo Vince Exhaust Systems, a new sponsor of Blackhorse Kawasaki for 2011. With one eye on the opening rounds of the Metzeler National Superstock 1000 and 600 Championships at Brands Hatch over Easter, the team returned to base to analyse the data from Cartagena and prepare for the next tests at Brands Hatch and Snetterton respectively. Team manager Ian Lougher: The Cartagena test couldn't have gone much better and we all leave here in a really positive frame of mind. Brad, Conor and Victor repaid the team's hard work with some solid riding and for Victor to finish top of the Superstock 1000 class was mega. It was also great to have Conor back with us and to see him go faster with every outing. Our new team member Brad Anderson has really gelled with the team and we were all very impressed with both his attitude and speed. The new Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R is of course fantastic, we haven't quite found the perfect set-up yet and that is all the more encouraging given what we have already achieved here in Spain!
