MAXTON ARE WORLD CHAMPIONS

Maxton would like to congratulate Pekka Paivarinta and Timo Kattiala on winning the FIM World Sidecar Championship.

The Finnish pair nicknamed the "Sliding Finns" won the World F1 Sidecar Championship beating their close rivals Tim Reeves and Patrick Farrance at the last round at Le Mans. It was a fantastic race in Le Mans and a second place behind Reeves and Farrance was enough to win the title. It was a very close season with Pekka Paivarinta and Timo Kattiala taking race wins at the Sachsenring in Germany and Donnington Park in England. In every other race but one, they finished in second place. This is their first World Championship after narrowly missing out to Reeves and Farrance in 2007.

The Suzuki powered LCR outfit used by Paivarinta and Kattiala runs Maxton's latest GP7 dampers, built specially for the outfit.

For the 2009 season Timo Kattiala has retired, we would like to wish him all the best from everyone at Maxton. Pekka Paivarinta is looking forward to the 2009 season with a new passenger - Adolf Hani. Adolf Hänni is a sidecar "pioneer": Since 1983 Hänni has been part of the sidecar World Championship. He is 4-times World Championship runner up and German Champion. He drove with Steve Webster, Klaus Klaffenböck, Mike Roscher and Markus Schlosser.
